The health benefits of regular exercise and physical activity are hard to ignore. Everyone benefits from exercise, regardless of age, sex or physical ability

We all know how beneficial exercise for our health, but do we know how exactly it benefits us?

Here are some scientifically proven benefits of exercise and how they work :

 

 

  1. Exercise reduces the chance of developing diseases like  heart disease and high blood pressure. Exercise increases the levels of high-density lipoprotein (HDL), or "good," cholesterol and decreases unhealthy triglycerides. 
  2. Although recent studies cast doubt on the ability of exercise to help with weight loss , exercise does help burn calories which in turn , with the proper diet help with weight loss.
  3. Exercise improves the quality of sleep , helps one sleep faster, better and deeper
  4. Exercise improves mood, lifts ones spirit and decreases stress levels. Exercise can initiate the release of endorphins  and serotonin which are chemicals that can make one feel good. Studies have shown exercise helps combat depression and anxiety
  5. Exercise helps improve cognitive functions. Exercise increase levels of BDNF (brain-derived neurotrophic factor; BDNF helps support and strengthen the synapses in the brain as well as helping protect and grow new neurons), ... increase resistance to brain insult.
  6. Exercise helps improves the chances of one living long . 1 hour walking per day can decrease mortality by 24%
  7. Exercise boosts energy. Regular physical activity can improve your muscle strength and boost your endurance.

   8 . Exercise improves health conditions such as diabetes,cancer, auto-immune diseases,erectile dysfunction

 

The bottom line is that exercise is very beneficial for improving quality of life, reducing the chances of developing chronic disabling diseases and prolonging life.
