Innovative Treatment Options for Treating Hair Loss

Innovative Treatment options for Androgenic Hair Loss

The treatments available for Androgenic Alopecia in men and women consists of the following 5 categories:

  1. Nutrition
  2. Topical treatments
  3. Laser treatmrnts
  4. PRP
  5. Hair transplant

Once a medical condition for  hair loss has been determined, a combination of the above treatments is started to reduce hair loss and to reverse it.

  1. Nutrition: deficiencies in certain vitamins important for hair growth like vitamin A, B (especially biotin), C, D, E lead to hair loss as well as deficiencies in Iron, Zinc and Proteins
  2. Topical treatments like minoxidil, finasteride and steroids are very helpful in controlling hair loss as well as regrowth of hair
  3. Low Level Laser Therapy helps hair regrowth by improving circulation and intracellular metabolism
  4. PRP helps hair regrowth by releasing growth factors that are like messengers signaling hair follicles to grow
  5. Hair transplant- when all fails and the hair follicles have died, the only thing left is to replace the hair follicles with new hair follicles from other parts of the scalp

Most recently new types of treatments and combinations have been introduced in the fight to reverse hair loss.

spironolactone 25mg once a day +

minoxidil 0.25 mg per day by mouth

Results have been very good with the combination

Androgenic hair  loss is a difficult problem to solve but by combining the above treatments success is attainable.
