Fat Transfer to the Buttocks ( The Brazilian Butt Lift)

Fat Transfer to the Buttocks  (The Brazilian Butt Lift)

Fat transfer to the buttocks (otherwise called the Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL)involves removing fat from either the abdomen, flanks, back, thighs, hips  via liposuction and transferring the fat obtained to the buttocks as well as reshaping the back by strategically suctioning the mid back and sides to accentuate the look of the buttocks

The procedure is an outpatient procedure  The tumescent lipo procedure reduces the risks associated with traditional liposuction for quick recovery time and little residual pain.

Who is/is not a good candidate for Brazilian Butt Lift Fat Transfer?

Anyone who's healthy and has dropped, sagging buttocks with loss of volume in the age range between 20-60 can be good candidates for BBL

How does Brazilian Butt Lift Fat Transfer work?

Tumescent fluid is given which includes the mixing of lidocaine (an anesthetic) epinephrine (a vasoconstriction to stop bleeding) and sodium bicarbonate( to decrease acidity of the fluid which lessens discomfort) into subcutaneous fat. With the tumescent technique, the volume of fluid injected into fat is so large that the targeted areas become swollen and firm. The technique produces long-lasting local anesthesia of the skin and subcutaneous fat preventing pain during and after treatment. This eliminates the need for general anesthesia, sedation or prescription pain medications.

The removed fat is reinjected into the areas desired for permanent augmentation.

Is Brazilian Butt Lift Fat Transfer painful?

Generally tumescent liposuction is not painful.  Just for precaution we provide narcotic pain killers, like percocet coupled with an anxiolytic like  lorazepam before the procedure and patient is put on Pronox (laughing gas inhalation) during the procedure.

How long is the Brazilian Butt Lift Fat Transfer procedure?

Typically, the tumescent liposuction procedure lasts only about 2 hours and the transfer of the fat into other areas lasts about 30 minutes

How long do the Brazilian Butt Lift Fat Transfer results last?

There might be a loss of 20 to 30% of the initial fat transferred,  but once blood supply is established for the new fat, the results will be permanent.
